Blanks and Die Cut Parts for Industrial Processing and Technical Applications

Blanks are often used for subsequent labeling - for example, by laser marking or embossing. For automatic feeding, consistent dimensional accuracy, burr-free edges, and feed-optimized packaging are crucial to prevent process disruptions.

We develop die cut parts and functional parts together with you as needed - based on drawings and the intended application. Depending on the material and design, they can cover, protect, connect, or separate components, as well as support electrical or thermal functions (e.g., conduct or insulate).

Material and Manufacturing Expertise for Blanks and Stamped Parts

The quality of blanks and die cut parts is determined by the material, manufacturing precision, and the quality of edges and surfaces. For smooth further processing, dimensional accuracy, burr-free edges, flatness, and reproducible series quality are particularly important.

With our in-house toolmaking and extensive tool inventory, we economically produce special contours – from prototype production to full series.

Typical for laser-marking blanks: Aluminum with a full-surface black anodized layer. Upon request, we can already apply fixed content such as customer logos, pictograms, or static data using sub-anodized printing (under anodized layer) – later customization (e.g., serial numbers or variable information) can then be added via laser marking.

Frequently Asked Questions about Blanks, Die Cut Parts, and Functional Parts (FAQ)

A blank is a base or carrier part intended for later marking or further processing – often with defined dimensions and, depending on the application, already with surface treatment (e.g., black anodized) or pre-processing.
A die cut part is a component with a defined contour, cutouts, or embossing, manufactured according to a drawing for direct further processing or assembly.

Blanks are often used when variable data (e.g., serial numbers, batch, or variant markings) need to be applied later—such as by laser marking. Typical examples are laser-marking blanks made of black anodized aluminum, optionally with fixed content (e.g., logo) applied using sub-anodized printing.

Yes. At Becher Industrieschilder, we offer a wide range of laser-grade materials to ensure maximum contrast and durability. The most commonly used options include:

  • Colored anodized aluminum (e.g., as laser-marking blanks, optionally combined with sub-anodized printing for fixed content)
  • Stainless steel (with marking results depending on the surface finish and desired visual effect)

We recommend selecting the material and finish based on your specific application, required readability, and environmental conditions. Our experts at Becher are happy to advise you on the ideal combination for your project.

Yes. At Becher we produce single items, small series, and large series. Depending on geometry, material, and quantity, we coordinate the production method and, if necessary, the tooling concept – from prototype to economical series production.
